Fire Watch

The goal of a fire watch is to prevent fires from starting and to respond quickly if one does occur.

Some responsibilities of a fire watch include:

Evacuating Calling for an evacuation if necessary

Monitoring Constantly observing the area for signs of fire, such as sparks, heat sources, or flammable vapors

Responding Being prepared to use fire extinguishers, hydrants, and hose carts to put out small fires

Notifying Alerting workers in the area of a fire and calling emergency services if necessary

Maintaining Keeping the area free of combustible materials and ensuring firefighting equipment is ready to use

Inspecting Checking the area before, during, and after each shift to look for potential fire hazards
